I highly recommend the game "Paydirt", which uses dice and allows each "team" to call offensive and defensive plays. It uses charts from real teams from every season since 1946, including 2008. As realistic as it gets.

There was another one very much like it with the theme of "ABC Monday Night Football Game".

The matrix was on the bottom of the stadium already and you moved your long stemmed selector under the arrow for your play selection. Then you "snapped" the play on by turning on a light to turn on the outcome.

Cool deal. I am glad you found it. I had a cool game when I was a kid where you had to fill bubbles like on a scantron test and then pick plays. It was a bunch of fun but a bit simple by todays standards.
